TAG Aviation was delighted to host an event celebrating Girls in Aviation Day by inviting female students from a local school in Godalming, Surrey into the TAG facilities in Farnborough, UK.

Leading by example, TAG feels proud to have such a strong female line-up within both their Management Team as well as their Corporate Leadership Team which is 75% and 60% respectively whilst not forgetting that the CEO is also a female.  The women shared their experiences of working within the aviation industry.

The day started with presentations given by the TAG female Managers providing the students with an insight into their role, how they got into the aviation industry and what skills they employ daily, along with answering any questions from the visiting students and teachers.

After the presentation session, the girls were divided into two groups and participated in learning exercises that tested communication and problem-solving skills.

The visit ended with a trip to the magnificent Farnborough hangars which is home to some of the TAG aircraft followed by a visit to the FBO (Fixed Based Operation) for a short presentation and local community video by the airport itself.

The girls from the school later gave feedback on the day, mentioning that they found it both fun and inspirational with the following comments:

“It was exciting, and there were many aspects of aviation which I did not know before the visit.”

“It was amazing to hear from so many inspiring women, and it opened my eyes to the scope within the industry/company for different roles”.

The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for TAG to meet and encourage the next generation of female aviation employees.
