1966Creation of AeroleasingAeroleasing (ALG) works with third-party aircraft which it also leased (charter flights). It all begins with a twin-engine Piper Aztec aircraft.

A phase of expansion ensues with IOS (Investors Overseas Services - Bernard Cornfeld). Business jet activities begin as well as a Convair CV-240 aircraft equipped as an executive version with its long bar. This period of time sees TAG achieving tremendous expansion and growth.

1975First Long-distance Flight on a Falcon 201975 marks the year during which the first long-distance flight on a Falcon 20 (approximately 3.5h range) is operated. The flight is realised between Geneva and Singapore via Istanbul, Ankara, Tehran, Karachi, Islamabad, Calcutta, Rangoon, Bangkok, to finally land in Singapore.

1981Arrival of Elie Bazbaz who would super-charged the growth of TAG by developing a significant internal fleet ranging from small Learjets to Falcons 20 - 50 - 2000 - 900, Challenger 601, and even two DC-9s. TAG also goes through a major international expansion in all the continents (Asia, Africa, North America, and Eastern Europe). 1988ALG is awarded the Nobel Prize together with the UNGOMAPUNO leases a DC-9 to ALG for UNGOMAP missions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which starts to take on a number of complicated missions in this region for the transportation of people and key supplies.

The Nobel Peace Prize is conferred upon the peacekeeping forces of the United Nations. ALG is awarded the Nobel Prize together with the UNGOMAP.

1991Takeover of Transair and Executive Jet AviationTAG reached a growth peak in 1991, having amassed 440 people following the takeover of Transair and Executive Jet Aviation of Hawaii.

The economic crisis hits and a series of hardships ensues. Things escalate up until Mr Bazbaz left the company in 1994, a signed moratorium with the creditors and the arrival of Stephen Grey who would reorganise the company’s operations, radically reducing the fleet from 31 to 15 aircraft. Thankfully, the loss-making subsidiaries are closed and the profitability of the company is eventually restored.

1998TAG Aviation Holding is incorporatedTAG Aviation Holding is incorporated, followed by the acquisition of Aeroleasing which would be renamed TAG Aviation SA, then AMI Aviation Methods in the USA (which would be renamed TAG Aviation USA). 2001TAG reclaims its roots and returns to a business model based on Aircraft ManagementThe explosion of the economic bubble severely affects the economy. TAG further reduces the directly owned fleet and focuses on aircraft management for third parties and their provision for charter flights.

TAG Farnborough Airport transferred to Macquarie Group LimitedIn October 2019, TAG Farnborough Airport is acquired by Macquarie, an Australian company with a large portfolio of worldwide airport infrastructure investments and FBO operations.

Under TAG ownership, Farnborough handles over 30,000 air traffic movements each year, becoming the world’s first business airport to receive carbon neutral status, and is regularly voted Europe’s best FBO facility. The sale allows TAG to further develop its offering in other key business aviation sectors.
